Important points to note when visiting universities

1) Implementation outline

Depending on the level of expertise of the content, we divide the programs into the following levels:
In either case, the tours are intended for high school students who wish to enroll in our university, so please refrain from visiting as part of a school trip.
Please also understand that depending on the activities you wish to participate in, you may be required to take out your own insurance and bear the costs associated with the activities.

Level 0

[University visit (individual)]

This is a format where you visit the campus on your own. There will be no guidance or explanations provided by students or faculty members.

  Notes
?Tours are available from 9:00 to 17:00 on weekdays. Tours are not available on weekends, national holidays, or university holidays.

?Please cooperate by keeping tours to groups of 4 or less. In principle, no application is required, but if you wish to tour in groups of 5 or more, please apply using the form at least one week in advance.

?Please refrain from visiting if you have a fever or are feeling unwell.

?There is no parking lot for visitors on the premises, so please use public transportation.

?You are not allowed to enter any buildings other than the following.
Faculty of Agriculture... Nature and Science Museum Annex Library (2nd floor of the Main Building), Co-op Cafeteria, Student Office Building (Distribution location: Admissions Planning Office)
Faculty of Engineering... Nature and Science Museum, Co-op cafeteria, Administration Building (Distribution location: Admissions Section)

Level 1

[University tour (group)]

We accept group tours, mainly high school students who are interested in Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Students, faculty and staff will provide information and explanations about the university and explain the university's education.

  Notes
?Tours are available for approximately two hours between 9:30am and 4:30pm on weekdays.
(If you wish to use the cafeteria, you will need to allow approximately 45 to 60 minutes outside of your tour time.)

In principle, please apply using the form at least one and a half months in advance.

?Applications must be made by the person in charge at the high school or other institution. Applications from individuals or through for-profit companies will not be accepted.

The maximum number of people that can be accommodated is approximately 40.

?Please refrain from visiting if you have a fever or are feeling unwell.

? Please choose either Faculty of Agriculture (Fuchu) or Faculty of Engineering (Koganei) campus.

[High school visit (information session)]

Faculty and staff of the university will visit high schools, preparatory schools, and various consultation sessions to give an overview of the university and its education.

?Applications must be made by the person in charge at the high school or other institution. Applications from individuals or through for-profit companies will not be accepted.

Level 2

[Laboratory visits and mock lessons]

For high school students who are interested in Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Department Faculty Member explains their own department and research, and conducts classes and experiments in that field.

In principle, please apply using the form at least one and a half months in advance.

?Applications must be made by the person in charge at the high school or other institution. Applications from individuals or through for-profit companies will not be accepted.

?If there is a risk of injury or accident due to experiments, etc., it is necessary to take out insurance equivalent to Gakkensai and Gakkenbai. The enrollment procedure is to be carried out by the applicant.

?The applicant will be responsible for the cost of teaching materials required for classes and experiments, the cost of hiring students as a subsidy, and the cost of Senior Assistant Professor to Faculty Member.

[High school visits (off-campus lessons) and high school visits (commentary)]

At high schools and other schools, preparatory schools, and various counseling sessions, department Faculty Member explains their own subjects and research, critiques classes and experiments in the field, and critiques students' research presentations.

Level 3

[Research Guidance]

Department Faculty Member will provide advice and guidance on the planning and implementation of the student's desired research.

?In the research that the student is conducting, I would like to use Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology equipment to perform measurements, so I would like the Faculty Member department to provide guidance on this.
?Students want to conduct research under the guidance of Department Faculty Member.

?Applications must be made by the person in charge at the high school or other institution. Applications from individuals or through for-profit companies will not be accepted.

As a general rule, it is necessary to take out insurance equivalent to Gakkensai and Gakkenbai and submit a written pledge (University form). The applicant is responsible for the procedures for enrolling in the insurance.

?The applicant will be responsible for the cost of teaching materials, the employment of subsidized students, and the Senior Assistant Professor fee for Faculty Member required for research guidance.
